Track Roller Applictions – Different Types and Considerations

We are using track roller applications in the conveyor and moving systems. They are very good systems to create moving and load-carrying applications. Here we will take a look at the general properties and applications of these systems.

What is Track Roller?

Track roller mechanisms.

Track roller is a rolling system that carries load over the special tracks. They have round elements that are rolling on the tracks. Because of that, we are using these systems in different kinds of daily and idnsutriaş applications.

They generally can handle different kinds of loads such as axial and radial. So, carrying different kinds of loads with these systems is generally very useful.

Some manufacturers are applying special seals and lıbrication according to the different environments and applications. For example, if you will use these systems where there is high moisture, the corrosion resistance and the sealing of the moving parts must be very good.

You can find these systems available in both inch and metric sizes. There are standard sellers that you can get from them.

They are generally applied with through-shaft applications for different load-carrying applications.

Types of Track Roller Applications

There are various types of these applications that you can choose from them. Different constructions provide different kinds of advantages in general.

  • Crowned: This is one of the most used types of track roller applications in general. There is a slight camber on the track that makes it much easier for fitting.
  • V-Groove: V type of these systems are also available in most of the markets. They are very useful systems that you can use for carrying axial loads.
  • Round: Round track roller systems are also very common in most of the different applications. They have a very specific shape that you can easily install.
  • Ridged: Different types of ridges on the tracks make it possible for better attachment between the track and the roller.
  • Flat: This one is one o the most common application that we are using in linear load-carrying applications.
  • U-Groove: This is also a very common one that provides a very good attachment between the track and the roller. Their application is very useful and common that you can easily apply.
  • Flanged: Fşlanged systems make it possible to withstand the thrust loads coming from one side.
  • Double-Flanged: There are two flanges at the two sides of the rollers. They make it possible to withstand thrust loads from two sides.

Important Points to Consider About Them

While you re selecting a track roller application, you need to consider different kinds of things and points. And you will be able to select the best one.

  • Roller Width: The width of the track that you will use these systems is an important design parameter. You can set roller systems according to the width of the tracks.
  • Threaded Stud or Shaft Mount: In general, you can find the track roller mechanisms in two mounting styles. With the threaded stud, the track roller has a stud that directly connects with the application. Also, you can attach the roller to a shaft.
  • Material: There are different kinds of these materials that are available for them. These materials are ranging from plastic, aluminum alloys, rubber, stainless steel, and steel. These materials provide different kinds of advantages over each other.
  • The direction of Load: In which direction that you will carry the loads? There are generally three types of loads; thrust, radial, and axial. You need to select the configuration of the track rollers according to these loads.
  • Shaft Diameter: The diameter of the attachment section of these applications make it possible to attach different kinds of application.
  • Type of Bearing: In track roller applications, we are using bearings to obtain the rolling action. So, you need to select the type of bearing according to the type of load that you will carry. The general types of bearings; are roller, ball, sleeve, plain or bearingless track roller applications.
  • Load Carrying Capacity: This is maybe one of the most important points that you need to consider about these applications. You need to be sure about the maximum load-carrying capacity of the track roller systems.

Conclusion

These are the general information that you need to know about the track roller application. You need to consider various kinds of parameters to select the best one for your different applications. And there are different types of them are available according to the parameters that you defined.
